About the studio

Bee the one
who shows
up.

The name is a nudge. Showing up, day after day, for the habits, people and work that matter, is how anything good gets built. We make apps that help you do that, and then get out of your way.

Why we exist

Too many apps are built to be hard to put down, hard to leave and hard to use without paying. We think small apps can be generous instead: private, calm, useful for free and honest about the rest.

Bee The One Labs is independent. No investors to please and no growth targets to hit, so every decision can start with the person using the app. Our first app, Bee Steady, is a habit tracker that gives away what others charge for.

How we build

Four
promises.

Every app from the studio keeps these, from the first version to the last.

Private by default

What you track stays on your phone. No account, no cloud, no tracking of your habit data.

The basics stay free

The core of every app is free, forever. Pro adds extras for people who want them and want to support the studio.

Calm, not compulsive

No fake urgency, no guilt trips, no dark patterns. Apps that help, then get out of your way.

Small and well made

Fast, offline and light on battery, and designed with care, down to the check-off animation.

The maker

Hi, I'm
Syed Taqi.

I'm a full-stack and mobile developer. Since 2019 I've built websites, servers and iOS and Android apps for clients around the world, including the GMH Rides and GMH Chauffeur apps. Bee The One Labs is where I build my own: the apps I wanted to use and couldn't find.

Every email to the studio reaches me, so if something in an app could be better, tell me.
